YouTube mobile app updated in Nepal! Good news? or Bad News??!!
YouTube is finally updating its mobile app to the modern day and age. The update was long overdue. The update comes with updated player controls, new gestures and additional features.
One of the highlights in the new YouTube app is a new gesture to enable or disable full screen video. Instead of tapping the ‘[]’ button for full screen or rotating your phone, you can now swipe up the YouTube video to enable full screen mode and swipe down to return back to the standard player page.
There exists also some new buttons on the video player. The closed caption ‘cc’ appears on the overlay menu itself instead of the settings menu. The toggle switch for auto play feature is also available alongside the ‘cc’ in the overlay. You can also tap on the timestamp of a video to switch between how much time has elapsed in the video and how much remaining time is there.
The new video chapter feature also has been added to the new updated YouTube app which YouTube has been developing for quite some time now. Now, there exists a anew list view that presents all the chapters for the video including a preview thumbnail.
Finally YouTube has added a new set of “suggested actions”- small prompts that recommend that users rotate their phones or if they want use VR headset for a better experience watching a video. YouTube has stated that it’ll be working on adding more suggested actions in the future, also. Given so many positive and awesome new features, it’s obviously all good news
