iPhone SE 2020: The prefect phone for Nepali Market?
iPhone SE 2020 was released Yesterday. Back in 2016, the iPhone SE was a great deal as it provided a small form factor with top-tire chip-set. Believe it or not, there are many people who still like their phones compact. Yesterday, on April 15th, amidst the novel-corona virus outbreak apple decided to launch the new iPhone. Many people were hoping for a iPhone 9 (the mysterious number omitted by tech companies) or a new SE 2 but apple released the phone as the new iPhone SE 2020. The funky naming convention may imply that the company is telling us that this is the new generation of SE i.e. SE 2020. Maybe, who knows what goes on in their marketing games!
The iPhone SE 2020 uses the same design as the iPhone 8, only notable difference being the apple logo in the back of the phone at the center rather than at the upper side. This design choice was probably made to make the phone phone look similar to the current lineup and also maybe to differentiate from the regular iPhone 8. But, don’t be fooled by the old body and the bezels because on the inside of the phone, it packs a A13 bionic chip. The chip is also a generation ahead from their android counterparts. This is the same chip used by the latest iPhone 11 series which means it can handle tasks given to it like a champ! Augmented reality and high level photo processing is handled pretty well by this chip, so there should be no issues there. Apple has used a similar formula as in the previous SE, old body with top internals. They were very successful the last time, they are probably hoping for the same this time as well.
Obviously the phone is intended for a different market than their regular iPhone. The phone lacks face id, has old design that may be off-putting for some people. But, apple seems to have understood that not everyone who wants to buy an iPhone can afford one. This phone may be targeted for those. You have all the latest and greatest features plus minus a few things, but you get a latest apple phone that costs almost 60% cheaper.
This is a excellent value for money frankly speaking because apple phone typically have a long life-cycle compared to many other companies. Sure, you could buy a Xiaomi or a Samsung for the same price but the reliability and excellence from apples is definitely unquestionable.
