Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is being brought to us by CD Projekt Red, the same company responsible for the excellent Witcher games including the Witcher 3 game which was the unanimous choice for game of the year 2015. With such excellent and quality and experience riding along with them, will the new highly anticipated project be worth the wait – lets find out!
At E3 2019, Cyberpunk 2077 got the release date of April 16 2020. In January of 2020, the company announced that the release of the game will be pushed back due to the following reasons
“We are currently at a stage where the game is complete and playable, but there’s still work to be done. Night City is massive – full of stories, content, and places to visit, but due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish play-testing, fixing and polishing.”
Cyberpunk 2077 is now set to be announced in September 17th of 2020. The game is set to launch on almost all the major platforms including Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. Yes, apparently Stadia still survives somehow although the Google stadia release is rumored to be a bit later than other platforms. But with this generation of consoles coming to and end, I think we can expect the Cyberpunk 2077 to be launching in the PS5 and the Xbox series X. I mean, that’s pretty obvious and I probably didn’t have to mention it but since I already did, I don’t want to erase it either and here we are………….. Anyways, moving on
Cyberpunk 2077 is a single-player open world RPG and we will be playing as the character V in ‘Night City’. Yep, that’s the name ‘V’. Finding that name out must have taken them a while. Jokes aside, V’s character is entirely customizable for us, kind of like what they did in Elderly Scroll’s V:Skyrim but better. Customization option includes hairstyle, skin-tone, tattoos, backstory among others. Its just hard to comprehend how versatile and dynamic this game is. This next part is not a joke, you can customize the genitalia of your character as well. Yes, you read that right, I get paid to write about customizable genitals and you read it at home being weirdly amused by it. Get over it!
V has a chip embedded in his/her head. That silicon contains digitized ghost of Johnny Silverhand played by none other than everyone’s favourite THE Keanu Reeves. At this point it is unclear how much of a part his character plays in the story but he is said to have recorded lines for 15-days or so for the game and his E3 announcement was just ‘breathtaking’.
In cyberpunk 2077, you are offered 3 origin stories for V and the gameplay will vary for each one you chose. As the name suggests the game is set in a future 2077 where machines and technology is far more advanced than ours is today. Classes are also available in Cyberpunk 2077 but you can chose multiple instead of just one. You have Solo class, a mercenary class primarily focused on combat. Another one is techie which is focused on crafting and using various types of gadgets. Finally we have Netrunner that allows you to hack into computers, drones. V can use an ability called Braindance which allows them to analyze the sights, smells, and sounds, of another character’s memory.
The game itself is way too vast for you to just explore at just a couple hundred hours, its a game you will find and experience new things every time you play. Cyberpunk 2077 is a worthy game by every means and this small article I wrote can do it no justice. All I can do is spread the word and ask you to play the game yourself for an immersive experience. Pre-orders for Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on steam.
